The tree features glossy, dark green leaves and white, fragrant flowers, and it thrives in warm, tropical climates. Germination

Germinating Psidium guineense seeds can be a straightforward process. Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Plant the seeds in a well-draining seed-starting mix, typically composed of peat moss and perlite in equal parts. Sow the seeds at a shallow depth, about 1/4 inch, and lightly cover them with the mix. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. To create a humid microclimate for germination, you can cover the container with a clear plastic lid or plastic wrap. Place the container in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight. Psidium guineense seeds typically germinate within a few weeks to a couple of months. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, you can transplant them into individual pots or directly into the garden, providing them with the tropical or subtropical conditions they require to thrive. This lesser-known guava species is well worth growing for its distinctive fruit and culinary uses.
